Why We're Not Having a Baby Shower

Lots of people have been asking me whether or not Baby Wylen will be having a shower. The answer is no. It's not a Jewish custom to have a baby shower, mainly for superstitious reasons (it's not wise to collect lots of presents for little people until they have safely arrived in the world). Although, to quote Michael Scott from the great show The Office, "I'm not superstitious, I'm just a little titious," we've decided to go with this Jewish tradition. However, as a compromise with modernity, we've set up a registry for Baby Wylen, and can direct well-wishers there for future gift-giving ideas.
